ISO 17088:2021 is an international standard that specifies the requirements for plastics intended for composting. For compostable packaging, this certification ensures that the material biodegrades safely in a controlled composting environment, breaks down fully without leaving harmful residue or microplastics, and meets globally recognized benchmarks for environmental safety. It verifies that the product is genuinely compostable—not just biodegradable—and is safe for soil, plants, and the ecosystem.
Our Certifications
For compostable bags in India, CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) requires manufacturers to get: CIPET Test Report, CPCB Certification, State Pollution Control Board authorization.

CIPET-certificate
CIPET (Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology) is a Government of India body that tests and certifies materials.
For compostable packaging, a CIPET certificate confirms the material meets India’s biodegradability and compostability standards.
CPCB-certificate
CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) is India’s top environmental regulatory authority under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.A CPCB certification for compostable packaging confirms that the product is legally approved, environmentally safe, and fully compliant with India’s plastic waste and compostability regulations.
EPR
An EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) Certificate is an official mandatory authorization issued by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) or State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) in India. It legally binds Producers, Importers, and Brand Owners (PIBOs) to take full accountability for the collection, recycling, and eco-friendly disposal of the end-of-life waste generated by their products.
